BETONIT MATTE SEAL

1.    Is Betonit MatteSeal a waterproof sealer?

It is a water resistant sealer.  For areas exposed to hydrostatic pressure, we recommend to protect the area with a waterproofing membrane such as Sealcrete.

2.    Will Betonit MatteSeal discolor the material?

A slight darkening of the material may occur.  But some of our customers who have tried it have found it acceptable.

3.    Method of application?

Apply using a brush, roller, airless sprayer, or by dipping. Repeat application until the substrate remains moist for a few minutes. On vertical applications, apply the material from the bottom up.  Wipe of any excess liquid. Do not allow sealer to dry in puddles to avoid whitish deposits remaining on the surfaces. 

4.    Is there a need also to apply on non-porous surfaces?

Generally, non-porous surfaces do not require sealers to protect them from water penetration. BMSS is recommended for porous surfaces only.
